Pregnancy beauty both good and bad!

Dry skin: I suffer from psoriasis on my hands, feet and scalp. Whenever I’m particularly stressed out the stuff on my scalp comes down slightly and goes onto my forehead but never further down than my eyebrows. Luckily I have a fringe so if it gets bad I just wear my fringe down and it’s hidden… Sorted. Being pregnant has had a very strange effect on my skin as the psoriasis I have on my hands and feet has completely cleared up and the stuff which is only very occasionally on my forehead was taking centre stage. I was caught in a tight place… The more stuff I put on my skin to help with the skin condition the worse it seemed to get, which is pretty standard really but still annoying as you can imagine. Once I got into the second half of the second trimester it seemed to clear up so fingers crossed it will stay away for a while.

Hair: My hair feels amazing! This is definitely a great side effect of pregnancy it’s growing like crazy and feels really thick (although I know it will all come out once baby is here). I cant put conditioner on it or it will get greasy in what feels like 2 seconds flat but oh well not exactly a bad thing! Will save me loads of money between now and the little critters arrival!

Nails: Also growing like crazy although they do seem a little brittle but that could be my imagination. With work all day I really am surprised that they last at all!

Bath bombs: Unfortunately I have had to put my bath bomb obsession to bed, at least until May. They have caused a brief encounter with a PH Imbalance that I sure as hell don’t want a repeat of! The doctor said now I’m pregnant I am more likely to get this sort of thing and if I’ve one once I’ll probably get another! 😱

Tummy: On my expanding stomach I have been applying The body shops Coconut body butter, Palmer’s cocoa butter and boots mummy oil spray for stretch marks. I love the smell and consistency of the body butter it’s definitely the one I have been applying the most, I find the cocoa butter too sweet smelling and the oil spray feels disgusting on my skin…

Ultimate Review

Ultimate blends

The strength restorer serum 🙂

My thoughts about this product are a little conflicted, when buying this i also bought the matching Shampoo and Conditioner which have long been used and this has stuck around quite a bit longer!

My hair has gone through all sorts i have tortured it and taken it to the brink! Ive bleached it, dyed it, frazzled it and then finally i cut it all to about 2 inches long and as over the last 2 years it’s grown I’ve been a lot more loving.

I hardly ever even blow dry it these days, so when i do dry and straighten my hair i have to admit its in pretty good condition. Ive been really lucky after cutting it short that its grown back with a soft curl to it. I go to bed with it wet and its all pretty much styled by my pillow. Which is handy as I’m lazy… i live my bed… and this just adds to my bed time appreciation although it doesnt always work out so well!.

Anyway back to my product review!
It smells great! I would love for my hair to hold that scent all of the time! As an oil it does make my hair really shiny although i have to wash it much sooner than if i dont use it, but i guess that would be expected. I just dont feel that it makes any difference. I dont know if my hair was in bad condition that would change things tho, i was expecting my hair to feel softer and slicker but nothing. I think when i bought this from boots it was on special offer but i still wouldn’t buy it again. Im struggling to use this as it is to be honest!

If any one has used this and has found it works well for them let me know!

I guess this one just isnt for me!

Noxidoxi – Enhancing serum base.

A serum is the power-house of any skin care regime. From Bordeaux born brand noxidoxi, this has a CRC6 moisturising complex, which hydrates the skins surface as well as the deeper layers, while a cocktail of antioxidants and anti-inflammatories protect the skin. Layer under moisturiser. Full size £33.46

Helen thinks:
It is a really watery consistency and it smells like baby wipes. It did make my skin feel smoother and tighter (in a good way) and once it has soaked into the skin after just a few seconds, my skin felt nice and soft. Not sticky at all which is great! However i cant see any noticeable difference with the cream on. Maybe its something i will only notice after prolonged use.

Lollipops – lip balm delicieuse

A wonderful french find. This rich and creamy balm immediately soothes and softens with antioxidants and vitamin e, as well as protecting the lips from UV damage. Perfecr for the summer! Full size £4.15

Helen thinks:
It tastes amazing, smells even better but looks like ive got vaseline all over my mouth. It also doesnt work well as a base for lipstick!

Teoxane Cosmeceuticals – perfect skin refiner

With hyaluronic acid to plump and hydrate skin, 10% glycolic acid to help resurface the skin and calming ingredients to reduce irritation. Start by using it every other night (you’ll feel a mild tingling at first), and as with all potent treatments, a high SPF is a must during the day. Full size £70

Helen thinks:
It smells really chemically (not sure if thats a word) makes the surface of the skin feel a little numb when you have just applied it. I cant say if my face needa much plumping as i cant see a massive difference, but may be different on someone with a few wrinkles. It definitely felt different.

Yves Rocher – comme une evidence eau de parfum

This quintessentially french musky floral scent is light, feminine and airy. It intertwines notes of violet leaves, rose, lily of the valley and patchouli for a subtle scent that lasts all day (or night) long. Full size £24.50

Helen thinks:
The perfume has come in such a sweet looking bottle and box! It really does look classy and expensive! Im normally into musks that arnt flowery but i actually really like this. I dont think i would want to wear this at night but would be nice during a warm summers day. 🙂
