Travel whilst pregnant

Being 22 weekend pregnant my husband and I decided we would take the opportunity to go on a baby-moon which is essentially a holiday whilst pregnant to just be a happy couple and have a bit of us time.

When me and Andrew first got together we went to Venice for our first holiday and it was great although we stayed in a hostel so wasn’t as romantic as it could have been so we decided to go again but this time stay in a hotel. It was much better. We stayed for 4 days 3 nights and really enjoyed it

Before we set off I made sure the travel insurance we purchased covered us should something happen involving my pregnancy and photocopied my pregnancy notes. I even bought flight socks which as I’ve never used any before I can say they are actually surprisingly comfy and my legs didn’t feel quite as “heavy”.

Whilst away I had growing pains once a day for about half an hour and Henry had a growth spurt or more accurately I did. I woke up the day after getting there and my stomach seemed to have sprung out of nowhere but apparently that’s a thing that happens…. Something else which provided entertainment is it was whilst away on this romantic getaway my breasts decided to start leaking clear fluid… Why is pregnancy so God damn sexy!

Packing was a bit hit and miss I wish I had brought lip balm and a different moisturiser for my stomach. It was that cold being January and all, I didn’t wear any of the nice clothes I packed and ended up wearing as many layers as possible and my coat the entire time!

Andrew was really patient with me which was amazing he didn’t rush me and constantly reminded me to go and pee before we left anywhere. Was always there to rub my back when Henry decided to push or pull or whatever it is he has been doing on the inside. So all in all it has been an amazing and very enjoyable trip. I just need a holiday now to recover from this holiday ha ha 😂

Love me Beauty

image

My latest delivery from love me beauty.

A little underwelming, overall the products in the box were good. I love the lipstick, its in a metal case and it really does feel expensive, the shade is Wild Peony. Its a good shade as i think it will go nicely with all skin tones and a great transitional shade from Summer to Autumn!

The carmex is also another safe thing to add although do we really need two different flavours?

The nailsinc gel like nail polish is rubbish. It looks great when you first put it on, but within a day it begins to chip and i havent been doing anything overly strenuous! I have this nail polish in 3 shades now from various Beauty boxes so its clear Nailsinc are doing some serious PR work or just giving away all their rubbish for free!

I do love subscription boxes and this isnt really typical of what you get in them, i just think maybe they were a little stick for idea’s maybe?

The box including delivery is £14 and i would pay that for the lipstick alone so i guess i got a few freebies!

If any of you get a beauty box let me know which ones or if youve written blog posts about them! I would live to know what other people think of them!

Reviving review

wpid-img_20150803_114339.jpg

I have had the Monuspa Reviving mist for a couple of months now and i absolutely love it!

I got it just before i went on holiday to Spain as the spray was really refreshing and it smells really nice. So when your all hot and bothered and might not be feeling the freshest spritz a little of this onto your face, back of neck and body and it leaves you feeling much better!

It is also great t set your make up, one spritz of this keeps your make up there all day!

The product its self i got from a beauty box subscription and just haven’t managed to tell you guys about how amazing it is! This is a full sized sample and you can pick it up for £11.95.

“The perfect pick-me-up for dull days and stressed skin, to leave you feeling calm, comforted and in control. Created using a blend of zesty essential oils. A blend of zesty essential oils from Lemon and Rosewood to Sandalwood, Petitgrain, Geranium and Clary Sage. This invigorating combination will leave skin feeling deliciously cool and refreshed whilst providing an irresistible fragrance to tantalise the senses.” – Glossybox

The sacred truth

image

I went into lush the other day and asked one of the advisors about what would be best for dry skin. Ive tried one from Lush that had oats in it and although it did help at first by the time the next day arrived it was as dry as ever. With this information i was told that The Sacred truth was the next best for moisturising and i should give that a go. He also gave me a sample of Skin drink moisturiser to try after the mask.

image

The mask its self is really thick, green and slimy. I loved the smell of it tho! Its busting full of natural ingredients like lavender oil and jojobah oil smells great! When you put it on its really quite cool and refreshing on your face and you can feel the little bits of exfoliating matter throughout the mixture.

image

After leaving it on for the required time the mask itself didnt set as such but you could tell a difference between just putting it on and theend result. Washing it all off was quite easy and didnt cause quite as much mess as is usual.

Both mine and Andrews skin felt great afterwards really soft and my face felt slightly plumper but not in an alarming way. The moisturiser we used afterwards was also quite thick so we didnt need to use very much of it and it definitely made a difference.
This morning when i woke up my skin still feels lovely so its already better than the last one i tried!

Too pale for bronzer?

image

This bronzer is my way of contouring my face with a hit of chocolate.
It is made from coco beans and smells just like chocolate it is lovelly 🙂

Because i’m really fair skinned i have always stayed away from bronzers, afraid they would make me look ridiculous but i am glad i got this one. Its from too faced, so quite a large well known company that im aure tou have heard of. Already known for ita good quality.

I use the bronzer underneath the apples of my cheeks where it naturally goes in. I do this just to add definition to my cheeks, i add it across my hair line and along my jaw line. It definitely makes my make up look much more defined and is so so so much quicker than contouring!

Beauty review

image

Clarins gift set: So it was my birthday at the end of June and my very generous friend Louise bought me this awesome gift set. It has an exfoliating body scrub, a huge bottle of moisturising lotion and body oil. All three of these products smell different but just as lovely as the next.

The moisturiser is a beauty. Its not oily or sticky. It soaks right into the skin and really does make my skin feel loved! I havent looked to see how much they are as that would be rude! But im sure they are well worth the money!

The Body scrub is a small size so i have just been using this on my face to get the most out of it. It makes my skin feel really clean, soft and invigorated before applying any other creams afterwards.

Body oil i havent tried to use this yet as they do nake me a little nervous!  It smells really nice tho! I will have to try it when if ever i get a day off! 🙂

Face mask reviews

Since December me and Andrew have been testing out a variety of face masks.

We have used:

I have 2 favourite’s:

Lush’s Love lettuce. I keep this in the fridge so its lovely and cool when it goes onto my skin. There are ground up bits of Almond shell within the mask so once you start to wash it off you get a nicely exfoliated face too. Plus (pardon the pun) it smells Lush!

I love the way my skin feels after using the Honey and Oat Body shop mask although it is certainly not easy to wash off, if you have a shallow sink you will find it goes everywhere! I don’t use it as much of some of the others simply because of this, which is a shame.

The Montagne Juenesse masque’s i have been getting from Primark for 89p each are Andrews favourite. The White chocolate one to be precise. He liked the texture and the thickness of the mask. It set well on his face and made his skin feel lovely and moisturised afterwards.

The one Andrew liked the least was also a Montagne Juenesse one, passion peel off. He found that it was really watery and quite greasy, it didn’t set properly either whilst also making his skin feel quite irritated.

So yes, this is just small few of the hundreds of different face masks out there. Hope you enjoyed it and if there is anything you would like me to do a review on let me know!

Much Love 🙂
