MAC

My latest purchase.

A MAC studio concealer. So I was running out of my concealer and I had 2 options… pay the price for something quite expensive and have a genuinely good product or pay a third of the price for a third of the quality. Decisions.

Now this may seem like an obvious answer to many of you however I have never really had the disposable income enough to warrant the sort of prices MAC charge for make up. However I have heard nothing but amazing reviews for the stuff.
As I am sure many of you are aware you can actually try MAC products before you buy, in the sense you can go into a selfridges go straight up to a counter and have a number of products applied to your face for no fee. “Just to see how it settles on your skin”… To test the staying power of their products. So that when you decide to spend three times the amount for something you know it’s going to be worth it. I have found it really is. They are that confidant because their products sell themselves.

I apply this product firstly with my finger, under my eyes, on the sides of my nose and on any blemishes, then blend it into my skin using a foundation brush. I do this when I dont want to wear a foundation but want to conceal a few flaws. The lady that originally served me advised that when I am going all out with my make up that I should apply a primer and foundation before concealer as once they are added you take away any use for the concealer at all. I hadn’t really thought about it like that before so that’s what I will be showing you In a new and updated daily make up routine! You just wait! It’s going to be awesome 🙂

Much love

So in this post i wanted to share my favourite book.

But firstly it is a book series rather than one single book. I am number four, by Pittacus Lore. The name Pittacus Lore is as i’m sure you can tell is a pseudonym,  the author is James Frey and Jobie Hughes. Its quite a peculiar name chosen and once you start reading the books you will find that Pittacus is also a character in the book. I find that rather unusual and charming all at the same time.

The first book which was made into a mediocre film is the starting point as you would imagine. It is young adult fiction but do not be put off by this if your an adult book reader, these books should not be missed.

It is a rather large book series but i haven’t found that any of them are tiring or poorly written. Unlike the Charlaine Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse series. Which i feel passed its sell by date about 3 books from the end.

The book was published by HarperCollins on August 3, 2010, and spent seven weeks at number one on the children’s chapter of The New York Times bestseller list.

The book series is about a group of alien teenagers (Loriens) that have the fate of our world in their hands. They were sent to earth when a destructive alien race the Mogadorians destroyed their home planet. It all starts when they are children and how they grow up with their guardians and start to develop their legacies or special abilities that are needed to battle the Mogadorians, to save earth. I wont go into anymore details as i do not want to be a spoiler!

It is a nail biting thriller which i am completely hooked on. I hope that this inspires you to pick up a copy! Although if you read like i do you will have a long wait for the next book which is out in September!

Avon

So Avon! It is a beauty products company that started many years ago and is something that is loved by millions of women and it holds true memories. I myself have many fond memories of my Mum getting an Avon brochure through the letter box and we would sit and look through it, at all the pretty women and their make up. When we rubbed certain pages and we could smell the fragrances that the different models had on. Happy memories.

So today is a review of their products. However some of the products are no longer available.

This eye shadow pallet has four beautifully pigmented colours. Three of the shades are shimmer and one in matte. It would make a good smokey eye or even simply using all the colours individually. I do feel the actual powder has been compacted a little too much but this can be solved with a damp applicator.

This lipstick is in pout. It’s a pinky nude colour thats matte. It can sometimes go on a little thick but looks great applied with a brush onto a well moisturised lip.

My feet are awful. Full stop. They are cracked, I have a lot of dry skin and when I remove the dry skin it simply returns. These creams however stretch out the time frame so instead of having to do my feet every day which is time consuming and messy I can now get away with doing them once a week! Which is awesome!

Cheap and cheerful. Colour trend lipsticks cost ÂŁ1.50 they have a sheen to them but you definitely get more that what you pay for!
